Hey everyone,

I have not been on this forum for SUCH a long time, Shiney my creamino is doing great, he's my only fid right now untill... THIS TUESDAY! :clap I'm getting a handfed Abyssinian lovebird plus a baby handfed pearly conure, this breeder guy is so nice and he's giving me a great deal PLUS he's going to deliver them to my home! I belive my Abyssinian lovie will be a male because I seen the photo and both lovies seem to have a light black colour on the tip of there wings and I read on many sites females don't have them at this young yet. I'm SO lucky for getting one of these lovebirds because there SO rare in Canada even more hand fed, the man told me he does not know of any other breeders and Canada has now stopped shipping of some birds which includes Abyssinian lovebirds!!

I'm also very excited to get my baby pearly conure, there SO tiny and sweet, not too commen either.

I'll have a flock full of photo's this Tuesday, I'm just counting the days lol.

Here's an updated photo of my baby Shiney, well not a baby anymore but..

Shiney has really blossomed since the last time we saw him! Beautiful lovie!

Congrats on your 2 new birds! How old will the Abyssinian lovebird be when you get him? How long will he have been weaned. At one point, there used to be several breeders of Abyssinians but I'm not sure what happened to them all. Is the breeder you are getting yours from on the western side of Canada? I know there's a broker in Toronto who used to import them but I'm not sure if they are still available from Europe.

Congrats on the new babies. I know of one avid breeder in Montreal. She imports her abyssians from Europe too in order to get new bloodlines. Might be of interest if you are ever looking for a potential mate for your abby. :)

I look forward to the pictures of the new additions.

Congratulations!

Abys are really interesting lovies. I only recently learned that eat with their wee feetsies! I'm interested in reading how s/he thrives as a pet Aby. And a pearly conure, too? Lucky girl!

I'm not really sure where he is but he's like 4 to 5 hours from Toronto left. I never knew there was other breeders, maybe in the future I'll get another if I can find one. He said there fully weaned eating on there own, not sure how old tho. Just woundering do you have any tips for my new Abby's lovie? I know they need extra sunflower seeds and fids with pellets, and do you know if mine would really be a male or not from his black flight wings.. he's still really young. Thanks everyone, I am SOOO darn happy!

She breeds everything but peachface lovebirds. She has some fishers, black masks, black cheeks, madagascar Abyssians and I can't remember which other ones. She is actually in Ste Julie I believe, just outside of Montreal. BTW, if you are looking for some Roudybrush food, let me know. I also know of a pet store that just opened in MOntreal and is trying to specialise in birds :)

Madagascar lovebirds are also very pretty,

Black masked/Cheeked lovebirds are more commen tho here in Toronto.

The abby's is the largest lovebird in the world tho lol.
