Interesting news about Hercules...

soooo... the person I got Hercules from brought baby pics today... and it turns out he looked like a regular peachface lovie when he was little!!!! he was NOT red like I thought!!!!

I guess she forgot that he wasn't always red until she looked at his photos recently.....

Turns out he had a little yellow belly back then, too, and the same brilliant blues and greens on his back and rump....

Here's to add to the confusion of red suffusion, huh?

he is def. 10 yrs old... they got him for her son's 10th bday and he is 20 now...

Hercules is a gorgeous suffused red Peachie! This phenomenon seems to develop in older Peachfaced Lovies and there's really no explanation for it. The fact that Hercules is 20 makes him older than the oldest lovebird that I previously knew about! Kudos to you for all the years of wonderful care you've given him! :clap

He is beautiful and I'd be happy to see more, more & more pictures of him. I have a couple of older lovies that are now beginning to show some signs of age, yellow feathers, but no red. :(
